Important documents have a strange habit of disappearing into everyday life. A receipt ends up in a drawer. A warranty sits in an email attachment. A photo of an ID gets buried in the camera roll. None of it feels urgent at the time.
Then something breaks, a renewal is due, or a form needs to be submitted. Suddenly that one piece of paper is the only thing you need, and finding it becomes a small emergency. I kept noticing how often this happens—and how poorly ordinary folders and cloud drives handle it.
I didn't want to build another place where documents go to be forgotten. I wanted a calm, private vault that understands what a document is, makes every word searchable, and remembers the date you might otherwise miss.
That became Papertuck: scan something once, tuck it away, and trust that it will be ready when life asks for it.
Privacy shaped the product from the beginning. The free vault works locally on your device, without an account. Cloud sync is optional. Your household papers should never become somebody else's advertising profile.
Papertuck is still growing, and I'm building it with care rather than trying to turn it into everything at once. If it saves you from one frantic search, one missed warranty, or one forgotten renewal, it has done something worthwhile.
