Papertuck provides a local-first document-management app for iOS and Android. This policy explains what data we process and why. Contact: support@papertuck.com.
Papertuck keeps your documents on your device by default. When cloud sync is off, your scans, PDFs, document details, and OCR text never leave your device, so Papertuck cannot access them. We use the camera and photo library only when you choose to scan or import something. Papertuck does not request microphone access.
If you create an account, we store your name, email address, user ID, and authentication records. Signing in with Apple or Google shares only the account information and identifiers those providers return. An account is required to subscribe to Pro and to use cloud sync and household sharing.
Cloud sync is optional and available with Pro. When you turn it on, Papertuck uploads your documents and document details to Cloudflare so they can appear on your other devices and in a shared household vault. Synced data is encrypted while being sent and while stored. Papertuck manages the encryption keys, so our systems can technically decrypt synced documents. Cloud sync is not end-to-end encrypted. Free accounts do not upload documents.
We share data only with processors needed to run the service: Cloudflare hosts account and synced vault data; RevenueCat and Apple / Google process subscription and purchase information; Apple / Google may also process sign-in information. We do not use advertising or analytics SDKs and do not track you across apps.
We use your data solely to provide the app: authenticating you, syncing and serving your documents, managing your subscription, sending reminders and account emails, and securing the service. We do not sell personal data or use your document content for advertising.
On-device data persists until you delete it or uninstall the app. Cloud data persists while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your database records and purge your files from R2. Backups may persist for a short period before being overwritten.
You can export your documents and metadata from within the app, and delete your account (which erases your cloud data) at any time from Settings. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or erase your data - contact us and we'll help.
We protect synced documents with encrypted connections, encrypted cloud storage, authenticated access, and separate storage for each user. We never sell your documents, use their contents for advertising, or include document text in analytics. You can also protect the app with Face ID or Touch ID. No system is perfectly secure, so we recommend keeping a separate backup of critical documents.
Papertuck is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
